Appropriate age for joining school

Hi,We are returning to bangalore in this Oct. My son would be 4.5 yr old at that time. Which std should he be admitted? I am considering putting him to some pre school (dont know if it shud be LKG or UKG) and then admitting him to a proper school from June.Can someone guide me appropriate std for him in Oct and then in next June?Thanks in Advance,Anu
