variation in age

hi,
My daughter is Nov 2007 born and so she is 3 years now, she is in nursery. The school in which i have admitted her has this criteria of Dec to Dec born.. so by a month she is into the group.
she is one of the youngest in her class, she was 2.7 years when her nursery class started, this school does not have pre-nursery, they just have nursery followed by LKG and UKG. she will be only 5.7 for 1st standard and 14.7 for 10th if she continues in this school. She is in a CBSE school. will it be a problem in future going by the norms that they must at least 14.10 years or 15 for their 10th board?

Hi,

It depends on the stream. For Kindergarten some schools have age cut off of 3yrs by June for nursery. But for Montessori it is different. so 2yrs 7months/ 2y 8 months also start M1 and the age for 1std varies accordingly. In general you can find kids in 5.5 to 6 yrs in 1st std. Above that is over age.

Thanks

Sushma,

Can you point us to the norm/age criteria? As far as I know, CBSE recommends child should be .5+ for 1st standard.
