Review for National Hill View Public School (NHVPS)

NHVPS - Interview for admission - Our experience

We had interview for nursery admission in NHVPS last week. I must say it was a nightmare. Since we are residing in rajarajeshwarinagar it was very important for us to get admission in that school. We were following up from last year.

On the day of interview, the moment we entered into principal’s chamber she had “Not to give admission” attitude towards us. She stated questioning me and my husband. She went on finding mistakes in whatever we spoke. After intogerating about us and our family she said she will get back to us and asked us to leave. We waited for a day and finally called the school to know that our application is rejected.

I and my spouse work in good organization with decent salary. Our Child is very active and social. We stay within 2 kms of the school. We have good family background. We both are very soft spoken. Then what should be reason for the rejection? A BIG QUESTION

I think she had already decided whom to give admission and not give. Call for interview was just a gimics.2 of my friends attended the interview same day and their profile is same as that of ours. Only difference is that they belong to principal’s (Rama Ranganathan) Caste. Is she caste biased? If yes then she is doing wrong .She has no rights to so and I think school management should pitch in.

There are no rules and regulation in India. In US you can’t reject admission to school without valid reason. People who stay in that area should be given preference if they are capable of paying the fees.

If somebody from management of NHVPS is reading my blog I request them to give a thought about Principal Mrs. Rama Ranganathan.

I am not writing this with anger that my child didn’t get admission .I just want to create awareness about what Mrs. Rama is doing. I am sure many parents would have gone through this pain. I am raising voice behalf of them.

MRS Rama, If you are reading this I would request you to, not to do this in future. For every parent their child’s future is very important .By doing this you are making them to suffer with guilt that because of them their child couldn’t get admission to the school. Me and my husband are suffering from same guilt

You were called for the interview, but we did not receive any call from the school regarding the interview. Every time we called, the answer was 'we'll let you know'. People who are capable of paying the fees only apply to this school. We dont know on what basis they shortlist the applications. If they can put up the criteria to be met for applying in this school on their website, many people would be saving their time & money.

ramaranganathan is just greedy for money and has a rude and wierd attitude. She thinks that she is a millionaire.A teacher named Bhaskar is there who hits children if they commit a mistake

RTI

Does anyone know what RTI says about these admission process of the schools admission to the KG.
even IIM has been asked to expose their selection(which is the most complicated).
All are equal in this country and favouritism should not be followed anywhere in this country.

Guys, who feel that they are not given proper answers regarding rejection, can file an RTI application against the schools to know the reason why your application is rejected.
And, you have every right to know why your application is rejected.......

atleast, these schools will have some fear in futrue .

i totally agree with u.. we had been for the interview gfor the nursery level, and gosh she has got a BIG ATTITUDE PROBLEM!!!! .. she should be told to mellow down and listen to parent's views ... she can be all strict to the children in the school not to parents...SHE ACTUALLY MAKE U FEEL AT HER MERCY TO GET INTO THE SCHOOL
inspite of we getting the admission to this school... We had REJECTED it on one issue.
RAMA RANGANATHAN....
we felt there should be a comfort level for the parents to approach the school anytime.. with her attitude i am sure it going to be NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE

ANYWAYS GOOD LUCK TO ALL EXISTING PARENTS!!!!
PARENTS DONT BE GUILTY OR FEEL SAD IF U DIDNT GET THE ADMISSION IN THIS SCHOOL.... THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER SCHOOLS WITH GOOD MANAGEMENT ..

True, there are many more better schools where your children will learn better to become BETTER HUMAN BEINGS.

When I tried to enquire about the admission for my relative's child, the school administrative staff refused to connect me to the principal.

Why?

Is this how you treat the public? I have worked as a principal and met hundreds of parents who are genuinely concerned about their children's education. As a head of the institution, is it not her duty to talk to the parents?

Amazing, Ms. Ranganathan!

I totally agree with this blog, we don't have any clue on what's their expectation and what we are missing. I agree they receive 500 applications for 120 seats, they have to filter out many. But they should publish on what basis selection is made. Have points system and inform the parents.

I disgree with the comments on the principal. what brought u to this school in the first case was the reputation. The reputation to NHVPS is from the principal. she cant give admission to all the applicants.and moreover she concentrates (interviews the parents) not the child unlike other schools. The kids dont end up as spoilt kid like in other highly paid schools.
The only negative aspect is that the fee structure is quite high

As a student I would say that this school has improved my character as well as attitude in a very positive way. And now I am sure I can keep my head held high and proudly say-I am from NHVPS.Well..I can also say that Hill View is a much better school when compared to my previous school(NPS-Rajajinagar)well..that just my opinion.I am sure Mrs.Rama Ranganathan is responsible for bringing up the school to this level..please restrain yourself from spoiling her name just because you are not able to impress her to get admission for your kid.
And just side-along
I DO NOT BELONG TO HER CASTE.

U said that principal is a very good person lol then y did u left the school after 10th Because u hate the school thats all dont act that we donk know anything so u suck , princy sucks and even the school sucks ..........

U just got lucky .. And also .. U must have been one of the first few to join the school and thus they had no other option but to take u in ... After all .. All they were looking for was ur money ...

This experience looks so horrible. Sorry to hear that.

First of all conducting the so called " Interview" for nursery admission is a "punishment" to our little sweet ones. What is it they are trying to "judge" by this interview of a 3yr old? Smartness? Crying or smiling? Nursery is the starting of the education and all the kids should be given opportunity. There are many other criteria for selection like age cut off, proximity to school etc. What happens if the kid is not in good mood on the interview day? What happens if the kid is not comfortable when he/she see the school principal for the first time. He is a tranger to the kid!? I think school like this is going to reject...No meaning to this interview and observation atleast for Nursery admission. It make sense in higher classes.

Better to look out for admission in schools where the admission process is transparent and not based on parents income, caste etc.

It is ok to meet the parents with kid and check their educational background, interests etc. But interviewing/ keeping on observation a kid of 3 yr old is strictly BIG NO .

I would disagree to an extent on the admission process at NHVPS. While we have also gone through the admission process just few days back for my son and we felt it was quite systematic as compared to other schools in Bangalore schools like PSVB, DPS, BGS NPS etc.

We were given a time schedule for our child's observations and the interaction with the principal and us was as formal as we had in the other schools. I would say it was transparent by all means.

But i can understand from a parents experience that emotionally we zero-in to some school and we would at any cost like to get our child admitted in the same school and if that doesn't happen, we tend to breakdown. This is quite normal in most of the parents.

There are alot of good schools around in Bangalore and so what if the distance could be another 3 to 4 kms more. if one is destined to get into a good schools then a distance of 4 to 5kms is wort investing.

This perception of urs is yet another wrong one ... I have known the principal for almost a decade and have also studied her activities .. And in ur case ... He must have been a bit kore mellow and also .. It might b the fact that it was harder to find mistakes in u or that she was too tired and dint come ul wid questions to humiliate u ... So please don't misguide other parents is my humble request .
And for the other parents ... Pls don't go thru the trouble of the interview just to ruin ur childs most imp years of his/her life..!!

I heard similar horrible experiences of interview for a Nursery admission..
Specially we need to talk of attitude of principal..

Appointment given for 10:30 called in at 1:30 PM
With out speaking anything She told we will inform later ( 3 hours waiting Period)
Instead of talking to them and applogige for the delay she started saying don't make tamasha here in a rude manner..

Another friend of mine also had a similar expericne..
All the seats are pre blocked.. For just earning money 500 @ 500 applications
some never got call and few who got call were never called back with a reason for seat rejection.

PS:- Not my experience this is what a few parents shared with me as i recommend them to try there..

I completly agree that the Interview call whether got or not is an act of farce.
Most of the seats given are pre -determined and they never disclose based on what criteria the selections are made. This is the case with many other schools also

However NHVPS says First cum first and all will get an interview call
I submitted the application form on the very next day of taking it and never even got an interview call.I called and even met the secretary of the Principal who assured that i shall get an interview call , but i never got one ...
