Review for National Hill View Public School (NHVPS)

NHVPS - Terrible eperience with the principal

Same experience we had, when we went for PG1 admission interview for our daughter. Principal (Rama Ranganathan) was very rude. She asked about our schooling, college and our job profile . She even asked about our parents and our siblings’ education and profession. She asked us if we had any questions for her, everytime we asked her a question, she would answer abruptly, giving us an impression that she was not interested in answering any of our concerns. She started finding mistakes in whatever we spoke. We felt as if we were insulted and thrown out of the school. I and my husband both work in a very good organization in very good position. We had heard a lot about this school, and were always dreaming to join our daughter here and were waiting for an opportunity to meet the principal. We were really disappointed and insulted.

All those who didnot get through the admission to NHVPS, please don't lose heart, there are other good schools in the locality where the Management is friendly and approachable that makes you feel comfortable.

Mrs. Rama Ranganathan is a very cultured, professional Principal. the school is one of the best with highly cultured environment and inculcating high values to the children.

My child lakshmi is studying from PG1 to 4th std now and we have excellent interaction with Principal and teachers.

Just because somebody could not get seat for their child- let them not picture the Pricipal in badly.

THE SCHOOL TOTALLY SUCKS THEY HAVE TEACHERS WHO CANT TEACH PROPERLY N FIRST OF ALL SHE IS VERY RUDE N DOESNT KNOW HOW TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE

This school is not as good as it sounds as the principal is not that good moreover if u dont get an admition it means that u can try somewhere else and it is that this principal is not friendly and cultured. pls dont loose heart ppl who dont get admition

Greetings,

even my ward is studying right from pg II to 7th std, I agree the principal is cultured, professional and all, but she is caste biased. She (Mrs.Rama Ranganathan) supports children in the school of only her caste (tamilians) and not others. My son told me that recently, they had elections in the school for school captain-ship and the principal made a tamilian student win and after the elections, we found out that most of the students voted for someone else.

Anyway, the school is not worth joining because the once your child goes to middle/high school, the teaching is not that good as there are only aged teachers with outdated information. I do believe that aged teachers have a lot of experience and wisdom, but they are just not teaching well, they open the text book and just read it in front of the class, they encourage students to mugg up and not actually understand the concept. They do not show us any experiments (in chemistry) and they just ask the students to mugg up the formula/equations.This is really really sad as our children our not benefiting from the Rs.75,000 that we spend annually.

My ward is a very big fan of football and enjoys playing and watching football. This year, they scrapped out the ground and converted it to a basket ball ground.First of all the ground itself is small, on top of that , they converted the whole ground to a basket ball ground. Now, my ward is forced to play basket ball ONLY or other indoor activities..

I am planning to put my ward in NPS Rajajinagar.

Hope parents get to know about what actually happens inside the school and dont get fooled by its beautiful exterior appearance on a hill.

I am not angry or I am not criticizing the school by any means... I am just pointing out that what really happens inside the school after spending more than Rs.75,000.

Regards,
Saritha

Admissions 2011-12. Jan 2011.

Like all the parents of tiny tots keen to seek admission into a full fledged school, we too

were running around the many schools of bangalore. Finally we managed to have our tryst

with National Hill View public school.

We were called for an interview at 9.30 AM and were asked to go in by around 10.45 AM.
Of course we were the seekers so we obviously would not mind waiting for our turn. However

the corporate world would see this as absolute disaster with time management.
Yes, make a note that we the citizens of corporate world form the most of your customer

base, because few sectors in our country can afford the overly exhorbitant fees that the

reputed schools in Bangalore charge the parents with.

Our experience with her was mostly like others who have written in the blogs.
Still I decided to add my 2 cents to the same.

We entered the chamber of the principar and yes, like said and expected the air had its own

sense of uncomfort. Few are the places which are keen on making the seekers comfortable,

because only when one is comfortable one can actually be oneself.

We settled down and without an ice breaker, she started questioning my husband about

himself/his schooling/background/hobbies/reading habits etc etc.

Chocolate Episode
------------
Meanwhile there is whole tray of eclairs toffies placed under the table and this caught the

glimpse of my 3 year old who happended to pick one. I took it back and placed it in the

tray again. She still resented and took it up again. I repeated the second time.
The principal caught the battle between me and her, and looked at my child and said "
You must not take that without asking, do you want a chocolate" asked she. My child nodded

in confirmation. She granted the toffee and kept looking at her, obviously expecting a

"Thank you". I did prompt the same to my little one and she managed to say it.

My child was not satisfied just taking one, and wanted to eat it. So I took the wrapper off

and gave it to her. The wrapper went into my purse which I had placed down. Immediately she

retorted " Dont put it down" to which I responded " I havent put it down, and it is in my

purse". She quickly said "You must put it in the dust bin, thats not a dust bin right, give

her the wrapper and she will find the dust bin". I looked around for a bin and could not

find it and gave the wrapper to my daughter. Mrs. Ranganathan told my daughter, come and

put it here the bin is under my desk, to which my daughter immediately responded and did

so.

When I recited this tale to a friend, she said the same episode happened with both her

children. To which I assumed, the chocolates are deliberately placed to strike a

conversation in which she can gain an upper hand.

Meanwhile, my husband was done with his answering and it moved to me. I too was asked the

same things. She asked my husband what kind of time he spends with my daughter to which he

said, he spends quality time, pat came the question " What kind of quality time"

What kind of stories do you tell your child? To which he mentioned some books like Amar

Chitra Katha/moral stories. Madam did not seem convinced with such an answer.

Finally, the same question came to me and I told that I tell her short stories.

Language Issue
------------

She was keen on knowing in which language I told stories, to which I said in my mother

tongue. How much english does the child know, I said she can understand and speaks a couple

of words/sentences.

RR :What do you do when the child does not understand ?

Me "I talk in my mother tongue then.

RR :Why ?

Me : Because she will understand

RR : Why, when you taught her the mother tongue and she did not understand then how did you

explain.

Me : With actions sometimes.

RR : Then why use the mother tongue

Me: Because she knows an alternate language.

RR : You are choosing the easy way out and not that its an alternate language. The child

will take longer to learn the language.

RR: You have any questions

Me : Now that the school has a new branch, do we have an option to choose the branch.

RR : You do not get an option, the school will look at the geographical compatibility and

decide. Which is closer to your house.

Me : The new branch.

Finally, we got the admission for the new branch.

The experience was surely not a pleasure. Just like many other parents, I too would like to

let know, you have all the right to put across your point but not with rudeness and ill

treatment of parents.

Mind you, this is the first interaction with the school the to be parents have and surely
a first impression matters big way !!!

Thanks to Zeeksha we had read all the reviews about the experiences of different
parents and also verbally learnt about her from our friends. We were mentally prepared to

undergo the experiences listed as here.

All the best dear parents !!!

i also have been goin to school here. it is awesome.

This is not true. I am studying in this school for 8 years and I know that our principal is not bias.

PARENTS : please do research before joining this institution.

First of all, Mrs.Rama Ranganathan is Biased. Certified. The principal is also money minded and tries to make profit in every possible way. For example : Sports day meet, Field Trips, Class Photographs, etc

Secondly, The teachers in NHVPS are hopeless. Some teachers are also violent. Our games co-ordinator has a reputation of physically abusing precious, young children.

Some teachers act as if they are modern, and try to act 'cool'. They(female teachers) refer to us students(males) as "baby" , "darling" , "honey" , etc.

Most of the teachers use Profane words. I have 7 names of such teachers.

And a few teachers also agree with us that the principal is an Omen.

....Conclusion.....
1)Dont waste over Rs.80,000 on this unfair, unsafe, school.
2) The principal is equivalent to a terrorist.
3)I recommend you ask students for their opinion as they will give you an honest answer.

OMG PPL WHO SUPPORT THIS SCHOOL TOTALLY SUCK because the principal is neither qualified nor trained to teach students . she is very rude n doesnt have respect towards the parents. the school facilites are overgraded n they totally dont match the standards so i expertly advise all the parents to make sure they make their precious children to join schools which have a teacher-friendly environment n ESPECIALLY NOT THIS SCHOOL
