Hello, I would like to know the procedure for the entrance test for std 1. Is the test in a closed classroom with many children or is it a one on one test? is the test conducted in Hindi or English? are the children expected to know how to read and write Hindi too?? Can someone who has attended the entrance test throw some light on my queries?
Thankyou

yes, children are expected to read and write hindi.
entrance test is a written test of english, hindi and maths in a classroom. it is not a one to one test.

I finished 12th from this beautiful school in 1993. Since then, I visited this school in Nov 2008 and was happy to see a brand new school building. Though for many, army school was all about the charming old barracks, I personally feel that studying in a modern building will help children. Some of the old barracks are being preserved as heritage buildings.

Compared to other popular schools, this CBSE school's biggest advantage is the location. In a day and age of high teacher attrition, I was very happy to meet some of my good teachers recently , still teaching there. The school still has some way to go in terms of improving it's infrastructure. I still love the fact that it was so huge and beautiful and green. I am still in touch with most of my classmates. All of us are doing well and are confident individuals and have got admissions into great colleges and into the NDA, Pune.

I wish to know when do they open admissions for other children who do not have army/civil services background?
Anybody who has got admission belonging to others category?
Thanks

I got admission for my son for LKG and now he is in UKG at Shaurya Army Pre-School by Civilian quota. I am not sure if this will be continued to APS. I enquired about this and I only know children of Army, Civil services, ex-servicemen are given preference. For Civilians they have an entrance for 1st Standard. I am satisfied with the education they provide and hence wish to continue.

Hi Priya,
In 2010 you posted that your son is studying UKG at Shaurya Army Pre-School. Kindly let me know, if he was given any kind of priority for 1st class in Army Public school. Was there any kind of test / interview? I am looking for admission to LKG at Shaurya pre school for my daughter. I would like to know the kind of options that we (Civilians) will have, after completing pre school studies.

Thanks & Regards,
Sasidhar

Hello Priya,
I inquired about the admission to LKG for my daughter. They are agree to admit her, but my only concern is whether they will also admit her to the 1st standard in APS. What if even after conducting and passing the entrance exam for 1st standard, they will give admission for civilians. Is there any rule or written document which describes this.

Also, what I heard is they have something around 2 seat quota for civilians who are completing their UKG from Shurya Pre School. But I am not sure about this.
Please let me know if you have any other information regarding this.
