Calibre Academy was founded by Mrs YGP - honourable educationist and founder of Padma Seshadri schools. Calibre Academy is also commonly called as Mrs. YGP School.

  • Pre-K.G:  9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • L.K.G:     8:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m.
  • U.K.G to Std III :  8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Std IV to Std VIII :  8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

There are lot of issues with this school. The School is using the name of Mrs. YGP as a marketing ploy and using the legacy of Mrs. YGP as a ruse for running rough shod on everything. Right from the curriculum ( That does not exist!! or at best is planned a day before as to what the kids need to learn, the instruction pace is so bad, that nothing practically gets taught in the begining of the year and then the students have a big dump they get at the end of the year. The school does not have any sports facilities or even a decent playground for the kids to play.

If you have no choice with other schools in chennai, this can be a stop gap arrangement. They dont have any affiliation from any Board, this puts your kids at tremendous risk.

I have been an affected parent and so many others. I know this year they had 250 kids leave the school ( This means about 30% of the total enrollment). I have heard no other school having such a poor record.

Please watch out, check with multiple parents and make a judgement for yourself. Or if you are one of those that like to experience it, be their guest.
