Presidency east offers classes from kindergarten till the 8th standard/grade for now and will quite likely offer upto 12th standard/grade in the future. As per the school's website the student teacher ratio will be 1:18. Thankfully - the school has published the "age elibibility criteria" on the website (excerpt here):

| Fee Structure |
We always appreciate a school that is transparent about the school fees. Presidency publishes it's fees ('10-'11) on their website: http://presidencyschooleast.org/FeeStructure.htm
For 2012: Look slike there is a 30% hike in fees. Check with school for updated info |

Latest problem with the school is they have shifted all KG1 sections into the basement with no natural light or ventilation. They don't have any capacity planning in place. Admitted new students in lure of money and filled up coffers without adequate space in place. Now the little toddlers are made to sit in dens of darkness. They are forced to walk up to the ground floor even for basic needs as rest rooms. They have installed ACs without proper wiring and in a hurry, due to which there is a serious threat of short circuit and fire accidents. Already one such incident has been reported. When confronted for explanation, the Principal and his staff were found lying and hurling abuses and threats on parents.
They explain this is a short term makeshift arragement but for how long? They say 6 months to 1 yr until they find an alternative site and construct the building. Because of this issue, even good teachers have quit the school and the rest are just bearing the oppression of the admin and management.
Lets fight with unity. Please mail your concerns to parents.presidencyeast at gmail.com
Having Class rooms for kids in basement is too bad! without natural sun light and air circulations are bad for health for kids! som thing has to be done, does short term mean 2 months or is it more
i am also parent of kg 1, i dnt think basement class will be safety ft t kids. already my child started getting cold n cough, v hav to talk to t management abt tis n tell them t seriousness of this. as an experinevced management team, they should understand the parents feelings n seriousness of this problem n should take proper action, it is also nt advisable to keep the childrens in the basement as it will lead into more complications.
i am a parent of kg1 student after knowing tht her classes are going to be held in the basement i am really worried as she is asmatic and ac is also alergic for her, planning to take her out of the school if the managemnet wont change the decission.\

Iam also the parent of KG1 child. If we raise the issue of having the classroom in basement individually, nothing much is going to happen. In fact, when we raised this with the school authorities, they almost ignored the issue saying we have always been doing this.
I guess we need to get together and address this as a group so that action will be taken by the school.
This year this school is starting the KG1 classes in the basement of the building. Is that allowed? There is only 1 small window there for ventilation. Isn't basement only for parking as per rules? Where can a formal complaint be lodged with the education authorities regarding this? Thanks
Raj
After hearing, I also got worried....we need to request school managment to change thier decision.
I also got worried.. we should speak to management on this. How come they allot basement roons for kids with out proper ventilnation..
The management has increased the fees for the year 2011-12 by around 30%. The fees for the new admissions and old students is the same.
I request the management to reconsider their decision about the fees.
Hi
We are residing in NGEF Layout. We plan to seek for Admissions at Presidency School , Kasturi Nagar.
We are quite new to the city and would be great if some of you could help us get some feedback on the admission procedure.
# Is it relatively easy to get admission .
# Do they charge a Donation
# Whom to contact for admission
# is the admission procedure transperent
What are the expenses incurred (in detail for a child to get an admission in LKG)
With regards
Fabiha
The fees structure for 2011-2012 for PRE KG is as follows
Kindly note the Fee structure for new Admissions Students-2011-12
ADMISSION FEE Rs. 25,000/-
ANNUAL FEE Rs. 20,000/-
1st TERM TUITION FEE(JUNE TO SEPT) Rs.14,000/-
TOTAL(AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION) Rs. 59,000/-
2nd TERM TUITION FEE Rs.14,000/-
3rd TERM TUITION FEE Rs.14,000/-
GRAND TOTAL Rs. 87,000/-
It is almost 20,000/- more than 2010- 2011
Do they increase in same way? How is the school? is it really worth paying them so much.
Is that Presidency Kasturi Nagar is worth to pay this much fee? Please let me know your feedback, as I need to take decision at the earliest.
Thanks

Hi Peter,
Not sure if you meant admission procedure in Presidency, Kasturi Nagar specifically or about admission in Bangalore schools in general. Anyway - my answers are fairly generic:
Admission in good schools are quite tough (just that there is a lot of competition) so you should definitely be on top of the process. Most of them start giving out the application forms around now (October-November time frame) so definitely get in touch with the schools (over phone is usually fine for equiries) and find further information.
The good ones are usually quite transparent and won't charge for "donation" etc.. Reg. transparency of admission procedure - I am not sure what you mean. Each school has their own mechanism of shortlisting candidates and I'm not sure if everybody will be given an explanation of why their kids did not get short listed (which is the only time you will have questions about the admission procedure). So I guess it is not so transparent.
Anyway - you got to start by short listing a bunch of schools (hopefully closer to where you stay) and then begin getting in touch with the school to get the details of admission procedure, dates and the age criteria (the good ones are usually strict about this).
Hope it works out. Good luck.

fees structure is very high, and that too they will increase the fee every year....its not affordable
Hi,
Can anyone please provide some feedback on the presidency school located in Bilekehalli. I understand the school was started in 2006.
It is a mediocre school Nothing special in this school. There are better schools on Bennerghatta road. To suggest a better one-I rcommend BGS NPS.
