Sishya was founded in 1972. The school has gradually developed over the years until it has evolved into a full fledged Higher Secondary School, offering +2 since 1986. The school is offers ICSE at the 10th standard level and ISC for the 12th standard

The school maintains a good website and has enough information to answer most of the obvious questions.

Reg. Admissions: Children joining LKG must be aged 3+ by December of the previous year. Parents may register their children in advance, as admission is on a first come basis. As the numbers available are small, many parents choose to register their children at birth. Parents and children are called to meet the Admissions Committee in October of the previous year.

Activities

List of Games: Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Hockey, Athletics.

SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) and Social Work are compulsory activities for students of Classes 9 to 12. Under SUPW, children learn practical activities like changing a tyre, fixing a bulb, or cooking a tasty dish. Community Service activities include visits to orphanages and schools for the physically/mentally challenged.

Afternoon activities for all students from Class 6 to Class 9: Each student chooses one sport and one club activity every term. List of clubs: Drums, Aeromodelling, Painting, Key board / Violin, Guitar, Environment, Karate, Silambam, Chess, Aerobics, Physics club, Yoga, Crystal Glass Painting, Gymnastics.

Art and music is taught to all students from LKG to Class 7.
