Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) is one of three Foundations in the world that run schools exploring education in the light of the teachings of J. Krishnamurti. The School was started in the year 1973. Today it is a day boarding, co-educational school with students in Junior , Middle and Senior school. The school is located in a spacious campus in Adyar made available by The Theosophical Society. This location permits rare opportunities to be with nature - ancient trees and vast spaces. The school has about 350 students and 35 teachers. The school has three terms running from mid-June to mid-April. Usually there are two breaks of about 10 days each in September/October and December. There is no school uniform. Pupils are expected to dress appropriately for the school. Parents are required to take care to ensure appropriateness and simplicity. School Lunch: All students and teachers have lunch together. A balanced vegetarian diet is provided. In addition, there are two breaks, one is in the forenoon for fruit and one at the end of the day for snacks and something to drink. |

Class I to IV : 8.20 am to 02.45 pm The school has a five-day week for students up to class X and 5½ day week for Classes XI and XII. |
