The Valley School was founded in 1978 by philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti. It is one of the six schools of the Krishnamurti Foundation India The culture of The Valley School is the biggest attraction for the students present, and former. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the dress code is casual. Interactions between teachers and students is informal and based on Jiddu Krishnamurti’s philosophy that “Learning cannot happen when there is fear”. Freedom with responsibility is emphasized from an early age, and rewards and punishments are kept to a minimum. Students are encouraged to direct their own learning. A common criticism is that the school provides the students a false sense of utopia that does not prepare them to meet the challenges of the real world. Campus: The school is located in a picturesque valley with undulating hills and farms with a reserve forest on the fringe. For day schoolers: Class 1 to 10: Rs. 80, 000 and Class 11-12: Rs. 1,10,000 Additional charges apply for hostel etc.. The school also has a different fee structure for NRI and non-Indians. The School works from 8:15 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. with a 20 minute tea break at 09:30 a.m., a lunch break between 12:10 p.m. and 12:50 p.m. and snacks at 3.20 pm. The buses depart from the school at 3:40 p.m. However senior classes ( 9 to 12 ) often have extended hours as and when necessary. The school works 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Even I am looking for some parent/ student feedback on the valley...
Any feedback on this school? I am thinking of enrolling my daughter into either Prakriya Green Wisdom school or Valley school. I have seen some reviews for Prakriya on the web but have seen none so far for Valley School.
Never admit your daughter in this school. It was the biggest mistake of my life that I left my daughter Veda in the hands of this bunch of jokers who call themselves teachers of valley school - what a shame in the name of the great philosopher Jiddu Krishna Ji. No wonder I saw so many teachers leaving this school in the last 8 years all because of this arrogant principal. All that remains in this school is hype.
